Bob Smith pilots the "UNTOUCHABLE" Jet Dragster
Here are some rare photos of one of the pioneers of jet
car drag racing!
Bob Smith drove the "UNTOUCHABLE" Jet Dragster in the early 1960s.
He was given the name "JETCARBOB" by publisher Doris Herbert of Drag New in
1963 and the name stuck with him throughout his career.
Bob and the "UNTOUCHABLE"
were in the Guiness Book of World Records for 13 years with a 287.704 MPH
run set at Kingdon Dragstrip on January 13, 1963.
1964 - MILAN DRAGSTRIP
He held the 1320 Standard Record Unlimited Dragster Class 63 until the records were
disbanded.

Another proud moment in Bob's career was the
induction of him and Romeo Palamides deceased builder of the "UNTOUCHABLE" into
the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame this past March 18, 1999.
